It's true that some people go to college, get degrees, and work in their field of study. 
I'm not one of those people.

I went to college, got a degree, and figured out a little too late that colleges don't have majors tailored to the work I love to do: 
Reading and Writing. Proofreading. Editing. Helping other people with my skills.

It comprises modules and units of theory, legal and court reporting education, rigorous practice, and examinations that test knowledge and ability to apply the learned skills. 

Proofreading and writing have always been interesting and enjoyable fields of study and work for me. 

I proofread papers in college and high school for fun, read writing handbooks and editing texts in my spare time, and appreciate the satisfaction that comes from marking up a piece of writing or transcript. 

Proofreading court transcripts also gives me the best of two worlds that I love: the world of law that I experienced through my paralegal studies and certification, and the world of proofreading and editing. I do what I do because I enjoy the work, invite the challenge, and I want to assist court reporters with my proficiency and resourcefulness.
